A Haryana-based model was found dead with her throat slit at her residence in a canal Sonipat. The deceased was identified as Sheetal.
According to the details, the model had been missing before her alleged murder, and a report for the same had been filed with the police by the model’s sister, who had mentioned that Sheetal had gone missing after she had left home for work.
Her body was found late last night. However, the same was identified as Sheetal Choudhary on Monday morning.
It was also known that a car belonging to Sheetal’s lover was recovered from the canal, and he was reported to be hospitalised.
Commenting on the matter, Sonipat ACP Headquarters Ajit Singh said, “We received information about the presence of the body of a woman in a canal.”
“Police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. In the process of identifying the body, it was found that a missing report for a woman, Sheetal, had been filed in Panipat,” he said.
“The police are undertaking further actions,” he added.
Sheetal used to work in the music industry in the state.
Further investigations into the case were underway.
On Sunday, a 24-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her brother following a family dispute in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar district.
The family members of the deceased attempted to cremate the body to destroy evidence, police said.
The incident took place in Ukavli village of the Budhana area, where the woman was attacked with a spade by her brother, the accused, Arjun, they said.
