The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet i.e. ACC has appointed Rohit Jain as the new Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). His appointment will be for 3 years, which will be considered effective from May 3 or later. Jain will replace current deputy governor T Rabi Shankar, whose tenure ends today.
Rohit Jain was earlier serving as Executive Director (ED) in RBI since December 2020. As Executive Director, Jain has taken charge of the Supervision Department (Risk, Analytics and Vulnerability Assessment).
