Organizing food from online food delivery platform Zomato is now a little more expensive. The company has increased the platform charge by 20%. Jomato has increased the fees on the order from Rs 10 to Rs 12. This new fee has been implemented in all cities of the country, where Jomato offers its services.

Why increased fees increased? During the festive season, such as Diwali, Navratri and other festivals, people make more food orders from outside. During this time the number of orders of Zomato increases significantly. To meet this increasing demand, the company has to spend extra on its delivery system, employees and technical resources. To balance this expenditure, the company has decided to increase platform fees.

Jomato has already made changes in its fees from time to time. Last year, in the festive season, the company increased the fees from Rs 6 to Rs 10. Before that it was from 5 rupees to 6 rupees. Due to the 20% increase of this time, customers will have to pay an additional Rs 2 on each order.

Jomato shares give 30% return in a year Jomato shares are trading flat at Rs 323 today. The company’s stock has given a return of about 17% so far this year. At the same time, 45% returns have been given in the last 6 months and 30% in a year.

Swiggy also increased delivery charge last month Organizing food from online food delivery platform Swiggy has now become a little more expensive. The company has increased its platform fees by Rs 2, or about 17%. Now Swigi’s customers will have to pay a platform fee of Rs 14 on every order. Earlier this fee was 12 rupees.
