This time the G20 meeting is being hosted by South Africa. PM Modi will be in South Africa from 21 to 23 November.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the Prime Minister will speak in all three main sessions. During the summit, PM Modi will also meet separately with leaders of many countries.
Apart from this, he will also attend the meeting of India-Brazil-South Africa (IBSA) countries.

PM Modi last participated in the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro, the capital of Brazil.
Trump will not attend G20 summit
US President Donald Trump has said that he will not attend the G20 summit. He has claimed that human rights violations are taking place in South Africa.
Trump had posted on social media and alleged that white farmers are being tortured in South Africa. Therefore no American official will go there.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had also announced not to attend the summit. In response to this, South Africa’s High Commissioner to India, Anil Sooklal, said that G20 has now become such a big platform that its work does not stop due to the absence of one country.

According to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, this decision has been taken due to South Africa’s anti-American stance.
Nigerian President also postponed the trip
Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has postponed his visit to South Africa and his plan to attend the G20 summit. He took this decision after the kidnapping of 24 schoolgirls and attack on a church in north-western Nigeria this week.
President Tinubu was scheduled to leave for South Africa on Wednesday. It is not clear yet whether he will attend the G20 summit or not.
In the early hours of Monday, gunmen stormed the hostel of Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga city. They entered inside by jumping the boundary fence and clashed with the police deployed for security. The attackers abducted the girl students and killed a staff member. No organization has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
