With the exits of US, Canada and Mexico, all three host nations of the 2026 FIFA World Cup are now out of the competition before the quarterfinal stage.
Data from SeatPick showed that average resale prices for quarterfinal tickets have dropped 31.5% over the past 24 hours and are down more than 50% over the last three days.
Fans looking to watch the FIFA World Cup 2026 quarterfinals may now find tickets at considerably lower prices after a sharp correction in the resale market following the exits of the United States and Portugal from the tournament.
According to a CNBC-TV18 report, the lowest resale price for Friday’s quarterfinal had fallen to around $1,200 by Tuesday afternoon on ticket marketplace TickPick, compared with nearly $2,950 earlier. The decline came after the United States was knocked out of the Round of 16, suffering a 4-1 defeat against Belgium on Monday.
Portugal’s elimination also weighed on demand. Spain edged Portugal 1-0 in another Round of 16 fixture, ending Cristiano Ronaldo’s final World Cup campaign. The result also ruled out the possibility of a high-profile United States-Portugal quarterfinal, a matchup that was widely expected to attract significant fan interest and command premium ticket prices.

According to the CNBC-TV18 report, data from SeatPick showed that average resale prices for quarterfinal tickets have dropped 31.5% over the past 24 hours and are down more than 50% over the last three days. The secondary ticket market has also seen a surge in supply, with nearly 49,500 tickets currently available for resale, compared with about 28,300 when the tournament got underway.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup had entered the tournament with record-high ticket prices on resale platforms, with some matches reportedly being listed at several times the levels seen during previous editions. While quarterfinal prices have softened, tickets for the semifinals have also become cheaper in recent days.
However, demand for the final remains strong. According to resale market data, the cheapest tickets for the title clash are still priced at around $9,000, although analysts say prices could fluctuate significantly depending on which teams qualify.
Among the remaining quarterfinal fixtures, Thursday’s clash between France and Morocco in Foxborough, Massachusetts currently offers the lowest entry price, with resale tickets starting at approximately $989, according to TickPick.
In the betting markets, France continues to be the leading favourite to win the World Cup, followed by Spain, Argentina and England.
