Exactly a year ago, at the same event, he had bought a custom Ferrari Daytona SP3 with a bid of $26 million. This means that within a year he has chosen another very unique Ferrari for his garage.
However, this time the car he bid for is not just an expensive Ferrari, but is also a part of the beginning of the company’s electric era. He will get delivery of this car in early 2027. Dr. Herbert is the Founder and CEO of Brain Power Incorporated (BPI). This company manufactures eye-related optical instruments, special tints for lenses and other ophthalmic products.

This paint is neither completely shiny nor completely matte.
A special pigment has been used in the paint of this car, due to which, depending on the angle and intensity of light, a light glow ranging from green to purple is visible on the surface of the car. This is the reason why the company has named this car ‘Luce’ (‘Light’ in Italian). According to the company, its purpose is to give the experience of changing the surface and structure of the car in different lights.

Apart from this, white colored wheels and brake callipers have been installed in the car. Where will Rs 382 crore go?
The entire amount received from this auction will be given to the Ferrari Foundation. This is a registered charity organization, which will spend money on education related projects in future. In this sense, this auction of Rs 382 crore is not just the sale of an expensive car. The money received from this will be invested in education related works.
Ferrari Luce was introduced by the company in May this year. This is Ferrari’s first production electric car and there was a lot of buzz about it even before its launch. The biggest reason for this was not only the electric powertrain, but also its design. Luce has been designed by renowned designers Jony Ive and Marc Newson in collaboration with Ferrari’s own design team. But at the time of launch, people also criticized it for its minimalist and regular design.
This car, which is priced at around 550,000 Euros, is priced at around Rs 6.1 crore in Indian Rupees. Both its price and design sparked debate among Ferrari fans and the auto industry. Interestingly, despite criticism regarding the design, the demand for Luce did not decrease. Ferrari had told in July that the company has sold all 500 units of this car.
However, another interesting thing has come to light regarding the booking of this car. According to reports, some buyers have booked the Luce only to strengthen their customer profile with Ferrari. By doing this, they will get a chance to buy other special cars or limited edition models of the company in future.
That is, the design of Ferrari Luce, which initially divided people into two parts, has now written a very special chapter in the history of Ferrari with an auction price of 40 million dollars i.e. about Rs 382.4 crore. The real value of ‘Chassis 0’ lies not just in its electric technology or design, but in the fact that it marks the beginning of Ferrari’s electric era.
