US-Iran Peace Deal: The White House rejected a report by Iranian state television claiming that Tehran and Washington had reached a draft framework agreement to end the West Asia conflict, calling the claims a “complete fabrication.” The Iranian report had cited an alleged draft outline of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which it said included provisions for the United States to lift a naval blockade on Iran and withdraw its forces from the Gulf region as part of a broader de-escalation arrangement.

Responding sharply, the White House dismissed the report in strong terms and urged the public not to believe it. The White House said in a post on X (formerly Twitter), “This report from Iranian controlled media is not true and the MOU they ‘released’ is a complete fabrication. Nobody should believe what Iranian state media is putting out. FACTS MATTER.”
What Iranian Report Claimed On US-Iran Peace Deal
The Iranian state media report suggested that commercial shipping through the strategic Strait of Hormuz could return to pre-war levels within a month under the proposed framework, provided certain conditions were met, including a withdrawal of US military presence from areas near Iran. It also claimed that the proposed arrangement envisaged Tehran managing commercial shipping in coordination with regional partners, including Oman, while excluding military vessels from the framework.
However, the White House categorically rejected the existence of any such agreed draft, reiterating that no finalised or near-finalised agreement of this nature exists between the two countries. The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most critical energy transit chokepoints, with a significant share of global oil shipments passing through the narrow waterway connecting the Persian Gulf to international markets.
Any disruption or diplomatic breakthrough in the region has major implications for global energy prices and geopolitical stability.
