A post in the name of Pakistani actress Iqra Aziz is viral on social media. It is being claimed that he appealed to watch Alia Bhatt and Sharvari starrer film Alpha and wrote that ‘Alpha is Pakistan’s answer to Dhurandhar.’ Also thanked YRF. However, upon investigation, this claim was found to be false. What is the viral claim? The post with Iqra Aziz’s name and picture is being shared on many social media platforms. It is claimed that he wrote, “Must watch Alpha. This is Pakistan’s answer to Dhurandhar. Thanks YRF.” On the basis of this post, many users are trolling Iqra Aziz and are also sharing it considering it to be true. What came out in the fact check? This claim was not confirmed in Dainik Bhaskar’s investigation. No such post regarding Alpha or YRF was found on the official social media accounts of Iqra Aziz. Sources associated with YRF also called this post fake. According to him, it has been created for the purpose of trolling and spreading misinformation. This has nothing to do with the promotion of YRF or the film Alpha. There is a possibility of it being an edited screenshot. The format of the viral picture is such that it can be easily edited. At present no credible evidence has been found that this post was made from the official account of Iqra Aziz. Therefore it cannot be considered authentic. Conclusion Claim: Iqra Aziz appealed to watch ‘Alpha’ and thanked YRF calling it ‘Pakistan’s answer to Dhurandhar’. Truth: Upon investigation the claim was found to be fake. No such post was found on the official social media accounts of Iqra Aziz. YRF sources also termed the post as fake and said that it is being made viral for the purpose of trolling and spreading misinformation.
