The National Testing Agency (NTA), various consortiums, and IIMs have prepared roadmaps for their major exams—JEE, NEET UG, CUET, CLAT, and CAT for 2026. The first major test for engineering students, JEE Main, will commence in January, while May will be a critical month for medical aspirants.
For those participating in this season of the major entrance exams, hard work is essential, but having the right information at the right time is equally crucial. From the start of the application process to the issuance of admit cards and exam dates, knowing the 2026 exam calendar in advance will help students prepare better and achieve higher scores in exams like JEE, NEET, and CUET.
Exam Schedule 2026
In 2026, millions of students will be preparing for exams like JEE and NEET, alongside their 12th board exams. Additionally, a significant number of students will also take the CUET UG exam.
1. JEE Main 2026 (Engineering)
The JEE Main exam is conducted twice a year. Students who clear both stages gain admission to top engineering colleges in the country. The session 1 (January) exam will be held from January 21 to 30, 2026. The result is expected by February 12. Session 2 (April) will be held from April 2 to 9, 2026. The result may be declared by April 20.
2. NEET UG 2026 (Medical)
The NEET UG exam for admission to MBBS and BDS courses in medical colleges across the country is usually held on the first Sunday of May. The application process is likely to start in February-March 2026.
3. CUET UG & PG 2026 (University Admission)
Passing the NTA’s CUET exam is necessary for admission to Central University, State University, Private University, and Deemed to be University.
CUET PG: The exam for post-graduation will begin in mid-March 2026. The registration process has already begun in December 2025.
CUET UG: The exam for undergraduate courses will be held between May and June 2026. The application form is expected to be released in March 2026.
4. BITSAT
BITSAT is conducted for admission to undergraduate programmes at Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS). The application window for the 2026 academic session opened on December 15. Applications for session one will be accepted until March 16, while for session two, the window will open on April 20, 2026, and close on May 2, 2026.
5. MHT CET
The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) scores are used for admission to engineering and medical colleges in the state. The state CET Cell has released a tentative exam schedule with MAH MHT CET 2026 for the PCM group from April 11 to 19, while the PCB group exams will be held from April 21 to 26.
6.AP EAMCET
The Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET) is the key to gaining admission into engineering, agriculture, and pharmacy programs across the state. The exams are scheduled for May 12, 13, 14, 15, and 18, 2026, with registration dates yet to be announced.
7. KCET
The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET), organised by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), serves as an eligibility test for candidates seeking admission to engineering, veterinary, and pharmacy courses. While the Authority has not yet announced the exam or application dates, registration is anticipated to begin in January, with the exams likely to take place in April.
8. VITEEE
The application process for VITEEE 2026 is underway. Registrations opened on October 24, 2025, and, according to the official VIT website, the tentative deadline to apply is March 31, 2026. The examination is scheduled to be conducted from April 28 to May 3, 2026. Results will be declared in the second week of May 2026, followed by the commencement of online counselling during the same period.
9. Ojee
The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) will soon release the notification for OJEE 2026 on its official website ojee.nic.in. The registration process is expected to commence in the last week of January 2026 and conclude in March 2026. The exams are anticipated to take place in May.
10. AEE
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, has initiated the registration process for the AEEE 2026 examination for BTech aspirants. The deadline to apply for Phase 1 of the exam is January 15, 2026. Eligible candidates must complete the application form through the official portal, aeee.amrita.edu.
12. SEAMET
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) will administer the Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture, and Medical Common Entrance Test (TG EAMCET 2026). The computer-based engineering entrance test is scheduled for May 9, 10, and 11, 2026. The entrance exam for agriculture and pharmacy courses will be held on May 4 and 5, 2026.
Meanwhile, the CLAT exam was held on December 7, 2025 (Sunday) for the academic session 2026 in an offline mode. The results were released on December 17. The CAT exam held for admission to IIMs and other top B-schools was conducted on November with the results announced on December 24.
