EPFO’s online claim processing portal will remain closed from June 26 to 28. The organization is going to undertake a major system migration and software upgradation. During this period, PF withdrawal, transfer and other digital services will be affected.

Know its effect and reason in 8 question-answer formats here…

Question 1: How long will EPFO’s online portal remain closed?

answer: According to the official notice released on the EPFO member portal, the service of online claim submission and processing will remain closed from 00:00 pm on 26 June 2026 to 23:59 pm on 28 June 2026 next year. All digital services will restart from 00:00 PM on 29 June 2026.

Question 2: What is the main reason for this 3-day shutdown?

answer: EPFO is undertaking a major ‘database consolidation’ and upgradation of software applications to strengthen its database. According to the organization, this is a system migration being done under a fixed schedule. Its aim is to provide faster, safer and more reliable service to customers in the future.

Question 3: What impact will this shutdown have on PF account holders i.e. subscribers?

answer: During these three days, no account holder will be able to submit a new online claim. Apart from this, work on the claims which are already in process will also be stopped. People who need money in emergency will have to wait for transfer or withdrawal. Apart from this, e-service passbook, ECR filing and UAN will not be linked to the account.

Question 4: Will the claims submitted before June 26 be processed?

answer: It has been made clear in the notice that the claims which have been filed before the start of the migration period will also not be processed during this period. Action against them will be taken only after the portal is reopened on June 29.

Question 5: What to do if you encounter a problem or need help during shutdown?

answer: EPFO has said that it regrets this temporary inconvenience and has appealed to the members to be patient. If any subscriber needs any important information or help, they can contact EPFO’s official call center helpline number 14470.

Question 6: Is this shutdown also related to any new service or major change?

answer: Yes, this shutdown is happening at a time when the organization is preparing to launch the facility of withdrawing money through UPI and ATM for its subscribers by the end of this month. After this major change, the traditional paper and complex online work of the organization will become completely modern.

Question 7: How will this new facility of withdrawing money from PF through UPI and ATM work?

answer: Till now, to withdraw PF money one had to go to the UAN portal and go through a long process. But now EPFO is working on an app. This app will be directly linked to the subscriber’s bank account and will work seamlessly with UPI platforms.

Question 8: After the implementation of the new UPI facility, how much money will account holders be able to withdraw at one time?

answer: After activation of this new system, subscribers will be able to withdraw up to 75% of their PF balance immediately. This process will be as easy as if you transfer money online to a friend or withdraw cash from an ATM.
