EPFO has more than 2.7 crore active members in the country.
EPFO has made 3 major changes for its more than 2.7 crore active members. The first is the launch of ‘passbook light’, which will help in checking PF contribution faster.
Second, the facility to download the transfer certificate online for job changes. These changes are to make the PF portal more user-friendly.
Claim Settlement Process has also been changed to rapidly settle PF withdrawal claims. Union Labor Minister Mansukh Mandavia gave information about these changes.
What is the passbook light and how will it work?
Till now PF had to go to a separate passbook portal to check contribution, withdrawal and balance details. But now everything with passbook lights will be available on EPFO members portal itself. That is, all the information will be found from the same login.
It will have three benefits:
- Single Login: No longer need to switch a separate portal.
- Fast view: Simple overview of contribution, withdrawal and balance.
- Low delays: fast loading compared to old systems, especially in peak time.
These changes are for increase transparency, reduce complaints and easy access to PF details.
How to access passbook lights? Step by-step guide
- Login on EPFO Member portal from your current credentials.
- Go to the view tab at the second number and click on the passbook light.
- The latest 5 months of contractions will be seen here.
- The passbook portal will still have to go to the detailed view.
What will happen with Annexor K online access?
It is a transfer certificate, which the EPFO generates for job changes. This document gives information about PF account transfer near the new employer from the old employer. Earlier it was available only on request, but now you can download direct PDF from Member Portal.
This will help in 2 ways
- Easy to track the status of PF transfer application.
- Whether or not PF balance and service period are properly updated in the new job, they will be able to confirm.
Annexure K will also have to login on the EPFO member portal. Go to the transfer section and click the download button. If the UAN is not activated, get it linked first.
Now PF claims will be set more fast
Currently, for any service of EPFO, such as PF transfer, settlement, advance or refund, has to be taken from Higher Level Officers (RPFC/Officer-in-charge). This delays the claims’ claims and increases processing time.
To make this system easier and accelerate, EPFO has transferred these rights to Assistant PF Commissioners and lower level officials.
