After Telangana man was shot dead during a fake pizza delivery in Philadelphia, his sister urges parents not to send children to the US while family seeks justice.

Hours after a 28-year-old man from Telangana in the United States was shot dead, his sister has urged Indian families not to send their children to the US.
The victim, Anshul Kuncha, had been living in the US for about four years. He was working at a multinational company and as a part-time pizza delivery executive on weekends to supplement the income. He was killed while making one such delivery on Saturday night in Philadelphia.
His family members have questioned the motive behind the killing. While calling for justice, his sister, Tanvi, said: “My brother was a loving and joyful person. He had been in the US for nearly four years. We came to know that he was trapped through a fake pizza delivery request and was shot dead. Our only request is that his body be brought back to India as early as possible.”
Speaking to the media, Tanvi also urged families to reconsider sending their children to the United States.
“This is a message to all parents considering sending their children to the US: My brother was a very loving and joyful person. He had no real reason to go to the US, but we sent him anyway. He didn’t want to go either, but he did, and look where it got him. Do not send your children to the US,” she said.
The latest incident comes days after a woman from Gujarat was shot dead in an incident suspected to be linked to robbery. The deceased was originally from Jantral village in Bijapur area of Mehsana district.
An unidentified man allegedly opened indiscriminate fire on her inside a shop, causing serious injuries. She later died from the gunshot wounds.
According to a report by Times of India, about 160 Indian nationals were reportedly killed between 2020 and 2025.
A report by the Ministry of External Affairs had stated that 108 student deaths were recorded between June 2020 and June 2024, with an additional 10 reported since June 2024.
