A 42-year-old man allegedly killed his 75-year-old paralytic mother by pushing her off the terrace of a four-storey building on Wednesday, police said.
According to police, the man carried his mother to the terrace before pushing her off, killing her on the spot. Police reached the scene after receiving information and arrested the accused based on the initial probe and his alleged confession.
Officials said the accused worked as a sales executive and lived on rent on the second floor of a building in BEML Layout in RR Nagar with his family and his mother. The victim had been suffering from paralysis and was bedridden for the past four to five years.
Police said the accused told investigators that he committed the act because he could not bear to see his mother suffer every day and found it difficult to take care of her.
Police have registered a case in the matter and have launched a further investigation. Officials said they are also probing the possibility of the involvement of others.
