As protests over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak continued in the national capital, Delhi University on Thursday appealed to students to remain calm, saying “vested interests” were exploiting their fears instead of helping ease their anxiety.
“We see the pain and anxiety of our students. It is unfortunate that vested interests are exploiting their fears instead of easing them. The need of the hour is to calm the situation and reduce their distress, so that they can focus on what truly matters: their studies and their future,” the university said in a statement.
The statement came amid continuing protests led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) demanding accountability over the alleged examination paper leak and renewed calls for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET-UG paper leak controversy.

Echoing the university’s appeal, the Principal of Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, affiliated with Delhi University, expressed support for the Union Education Minister and the Centre’s education reforms.
“We stand with Hon’ble Education Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan for his commitment to implementing the National Education Policy and modernising India’s education system. Those responsible for the paper leak have already been arrested and are facing strict action. Let us strengthen institutions, not weaken them,” the principal posted on X.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that fast-track courts would be established to investigate paper leak cases and ensure “swift and stringent punishment” for those involved.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “Nothing is more important than the welfare and future of our youth! We have decided to set up fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks. Have directed the concerned authorities and officials to take all necessary steps in this regard.”
“This continues our series of steps for safeguarding the interests of students. Those who try to harm the future of our youth will not be spared,” he added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Thursday, July 23, 2026, that fast-track courts will be established to ensure swift and stringent punishment for individuals involved in examination paper leaks.
