Delhi Red Fort Blast: US State Dept, France Issue Advisories; Envoys Condole Loss Of Lives

Several envoys extended their condolences to India after a devastating explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station killed nine people and injured 20 others.

Ambassadors from foreign countries extended their condolences in the aftermath of a deadly blast near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening, which claimed the lives of eight people and injured at least 20 others. Follow LIVE UPDATES Here

Mariano Caucino, Argentina’s Ambassador to India, said, “On behalf of the People and Government of Argentina, we convey our condolences to those who lost loved ones as a consequence of the Red Fort blast. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased and we wish a complete and swift recovery to all those injured.”

“Devastating news from Delhi. Praying for the victims, their families and the wounded. Standing with India, during this terrible evening,” said former Israeli Ambassador to India, Daniel Carmon.

French Ambassador Thierry Mathou said, “On behalf of the French People and Government, I extend our deepest condolences to those who lost loved ones in the Red Fort blast. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims, and we wish a full and complete recovery to all those injured.”

The Iranian Embassy in India also condoled the loss of lives and extended its sincere condolences to the Government and the people of the Republic of India. “The Embassy also conveys its heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved families of the victims and wishes patience and comfort for them, as well as a speedy recovery for those injured in this tragic incident,” it said in a statement.

British Envoy Lindy Cameron said, “My thoughts are with all those affected by the explosion near the Red Fort in New Delhi today. If you are in the immediate area, please follow the advice of the local authorities.”

“Our deepest condolences go out to all those affected by the incident this evening near Delhi’s Red Fort. Our thoughts are with the families who have lost loved ones and we wish for the speedy recovery of the injured,” said Australian High Commissioner to India.

US, France Advisory After Red Fort Blast

The US State Department issued an urgent travel advisory after the blast, urging people to avoid areas surrounding the Red Fort and Chandni Chowk, avoid crowds, monitor local media and remain alert in locations frequented by tourists.

“On November 10, 2025, a car exploded near the Lal Quila (Red Fort) metro station in central Delhi, India, with local media reporting multiple casualties. While the cause of the explosion is unknown at this time, the Government of India has placed several Indian states on high alert,” said the US embassy in India.

The French Embassy in New Delhi also issued an urgent advisory for French nationals in India, urging them to exercise utmost vigilance and caution and stay away from any gatherings, as the national capital reels from the devastating blast.

“An explosion occurred on the evening of November 10th, shortly before 7:00 PM (local time), near the Red Fort and the Lal Quila metro station in New Delhi. The cause and number of victims remain undetermined,” it said.

“French nationals in New Delhi are strongly advised to exercise the utmost vigilance and caution, to stay away from the area and away from any gatherings,” he added.

The British Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has advised people to follow the advice of local authorities. “There has been an explosion at the Red Fort (Lal Qila) Metro Station, New Delhi. If you’re in the immediate area follow the advice of the local authorities and monitor local media,” it said.

Delhi On High Alert

At least nine people were killed on Monday evening after a car exploded near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station, in what officials now suspect was a terror-related incident. A call about the blast was received around 6:55 pm, following which seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot.

According to official sources, security has been heightened across key installations and high-footfall areas, including markets and shopping malls, with the CISF and local police placed on alert. Central agencies are assessing the incident and have described the gravity of the blast as significant.

The incident occurred just hours after police uncovered an interstate terror module allegedly linked to banned organisations and seized more than 2,900 kilograms of suspected ammonium nitrate. This included 360 kg recovered earlier and an additional 2,500 kg of the explosive substance.
