New Delhi and Mumbai woke up to a thin layer of smog on Wednesday, a day ahead of the Diwali celebrations in the two cities.

A day before the Diwali celebrations, Delhi and Mumbai woke up to the ‘Poor’ and ‘Satisfactory’ categories respectively on Wednesday.
Several areas in the national capital remained in the ‘Poor’ AQI bracket between 200 and 300 while many localities in Mumbai saw ‘Satisfactory’ air quality.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data at 8 am, Delhi recorded an AQI of 274 while Mumbai saw 92.
However, a thin layer of smog engulfed some areas in Delhi early Wednesday morning.
Early morning visuals from Mumbai also showed a thin layer of smog, limiting the visibility.
