The National Capital was rattled by multiple bomb threats on Friday, a day before Independence Day. Bomb threat calls were reported at several prominent locations across Delhi and the adjoining NCR, including the Red Fort and the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) Terminal 3.
Officials told CNN-News18 that threat calls were also made at Jam Nagar House, Jhandewalan Building, MB Saket Office / DM Office, and SDM Office, Delhi Cantonment.
Fire tenders have been deployed at all the locations as a precautionary measure.
So far, preliminary inspections have not found any suspicious object at the sites.
Delhi High Court Gets Bomb Threat
The Delhi High Court also received a threat e-mail on Friday, August 14, with the message warning of a “bomb blast” on the Court’s premises at 2:11 PM on August 15.
The email, with the subject line “BOMB Blast Delhi High Court @ 2:11PM”, contained several threatening messages, including claims of bomb blasts at the Delhi High Court at 2:11 PM and district courts at 3:11 PM on August 15, the occasion of Independence Day.
