A Delhi court on Friday turned down the anticipatory bail plea of 62‑year‑old Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati (also known as Swami Parthasarathy), who is facing serious allegations of sexual abuse involving multiple female students.

The self-styled godman has been accused in a case in which 17 students of a private institute in Delhi’s Vasant Kunj allege harassment, coercive messages, threats, and promises of foreign trips.

During the hearing before the Patiala House court, Judge Hardeep Kaur reserved the final bail order, saying it would be pronounced later that evening or on Saturday.
