Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday morning welcomed the US administration’s efforts to end the war and bring peace in Gaza, saying that the US President Donald Trump’s leadership and efforts have led to “decisive progress”.
The Prime Minister’s remarks, made via a social media post, come shortly after Hamas accepted some parts of the deal but outlined that they are ready to release the hostages they had captured when they attacked Israel on October 7.
“We welcome President Trump’s leadership as peace efforts in Gaza make decisive progress. Indications of the release of hostages mark a significant step forward,” PM Modi said.
He also said that New Delhi will back “all efforts towards a durable and just peace”.
