David Beckham has added yet another title to his glittering legacy: billionaire.
The former England captain has officially become the first British sportsman to cross the billion-pound mark, according to the 2026 Sunday Times Rich List, which estimates the combined wealth of Beckham and his wife, Victoria Beckham, at a staggering £1.185 billion.
The Beckhams now rank among Britain’s wealthiest celebrity power couples and sit second among sporting figures overall behind only the family of former Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone, whose fortune is reportedly valued at £2 billion.
Beckham’s rise from football superstar to financial heavyweight has been years in the making. After retiring in 2013, the former Manchester United midfielder carefully transformed himself into one of sport’s most marketable global brands.
Today, Beckham is co-owner of Inter Miami, currently considered MLS’s most valuable franchise with an estimated valuation of £1.07 billion. The arrival of Lionel Messi in Miami only turbocharged the club’s commercial boom and global reach.
Beyond football, Beckham continues to earn enormous sums through endorsement deals and ambassador roles with brands including Adidas and Hugo Boss.
Meanwhile, Victoria Beckham has built a hugely successful luxury fashion label after initially finding worldwide fame as part of the Spice Girls.
Sporting Rich List Stacked With Stars
Seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton sits fifth with an estimated fortune of £435 million, while reigning Masters champion Rory McIlroy follows on £325 million.
Heavyweight boxing stars Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury also feature prominently, alongside Harry Kane and former Wimbledon champion Andy Murray.
