India shines at Commonwealth Games: Pinki Singh, Rupa Rani Tirkey, Putul Sonowal bag victories. Day 2 features Srihari Natraj, Jadumani Singh.

India started Day 1 on a massive high after Bowls athletes Pinki Singh, Rupa Rani Tirkey and Putul Sonowal pulled off brilliant yet thrilling wins to give the country a head start at the 23rd Commonwealth Games in Glasgow on Thursday.
This is India’s 19th appearance at the CWG. Since 2002, India have finished among the top five countries in the medal standings, claiming at least 50 medals in each of the last six editions.
The spotlight on Day 2 will be on swimmer Srihari Natraj, Pinki and Rupa who will take on South Africa in women’s pairs sectional play, Sonowal who will face Cecil Alexander in men’s singles sectional play and boxer Jadumani Singh.

As many as seven medals will be up for grabs for India on Day 2 of the tournament.
