Oil companies made petrol costlier by ₹ 2.61 and diesel by ₹ 2.71 per liter yesterday. After this increase, the price of petrol in Delhi has now become ₹ 102.12 and the price of diesel has become ₹ 95.20. Why did the prices of petrol, diesel and CNG increase? The main reason for the increase in the prices of petrol, diesel and CNG is the fluctuation in the prices of crude oil in the international market. Before the start of the war between Iran and America, the price of crude oil was $ 70, which has now increased to beyond $ 100 per barrel. Oil companies were under pressure due to rising crude oil prices. Therefore, companies have taken this step to compensate for the losses. If the prices of crude oil continue to rise for a long time, then the prices of petrol, diesel and CNG can be increased further. Oil companies are incurring a loss of Rs 600 crore every day. Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Sujata Sharma said on May 25 that the government oil companies are incurring a loss of about Rs 600 crore per day. Before the price change that started from May 15, companies were incurring a daily loss of around Rs 1,000 crore on selling petrol, diesel and domestic cooking gas. Sales of CNG vehicles in Bhopal have increased by 50%. Every day 10 to 15 CNG based vehicles are being sold from the showroom.
