CM Yogi Adityanath praised Union Cabinet decisions: Ganga-Varuna Elevated Corridors, Mobile Phone Manufacturing Scheme, Semicon 2.0, and NIPU-2026.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath welcomed a set of decisions taken by the Union Cabinet at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, describing them as historic and in the interest of the common people. In a post on ‘X’, he thanked the Prime Minister for the approvals, which include the Ganga and Varuna Elevated Corridor Projects in Varanasi, the Mobile Phone Manufacturing Scheme (MPMS), Semicon 2.0, and the National Investment Policy for Urea-2026 (NIPU-2026).
₹25,446 Crore For Varanasi’s Elevated Corridors
The Cabinet approved the Ganga (6-lane Greenfield) and Varuna (6/4-lane) Elevated Corridor Projects at an estimated cost of approximately ₹25,446 crore. CM Yogi called the approval a manifestation of the resolve of “Virasat Bhi, Vikas Bhi.”
₹62,500 Crore Mobile Manufacturing Scheme
The Union Cabinet approved the Mobile Phone Manufacturing Scheme with a budget allocation of ₹62,500 crore for the period from 2026-27 to 2030-31. Writing on ‘X’, CM Yogi said the scheme will increase domestic value addition, strengthen India’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem, create 60,000 direct jobs, and support total mobile phone production worth approximately ₹39 lakh crore. He said Uttar Pradesh is already emerging as a major hub for electronics and mobile manufacturing, and that the scheme will further accelerate investment, employment and industrial development in the state.
₹1,27,500 Crore For Semicon 2.0
The Cabinet also approved ‘Semicon 2.0’ with a total budget of ₹1,27,500 crore. CM Yogi said the initiative focuses on chip design, advanced manufacturing, research and development, talent development and semiconductor infrastructure, and will accelerate technological innovation and strengthen the supply chain. He said the decision will further the vision of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Viksit Bharat’.
New Urea Investment Policy For Farmers
The Cabinet approved the National Investment Policy for Urea-2026 (NIPU-2026) for Aatmanirbhar Bharat. CM Yogi described it as a visionary decision that will strengthen the country’s agriculture sector. He said the policy will promote the establishment of gas-based urea plants, encourage new investment in the sector, and work toward self-reliance in fertiliser production.
CM Yogi expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for each of the four decisions.
