Mamata Banerjee, who is in Delhi to attend the rally, praised Abhijit Dipke and other young activists for their involvement in protests against SIR and EC.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke calls on Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee in Delhi today.
Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke met former West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee in New Delhi on Saturday and thanked her for standing by the youth-led organisation during its protests. However, Dipke made it clear that CJP would not formally join the INDIA bloc’s rally at Ramlila Maidan on Sunday, maintaining that the outfit wanted to retain its independent identity.
Dipke said he had met Banerjee to acknowledge her support during CJP’s first protest at Jantar Mantar over the NEET paper leak issue and when its leaders, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, were detained by Delhi Police.
“I just came to say thank you to Didi because the way she supported our first Jantar Mantar movement, she was always so strongly with the youth movement. When Saurav and Ashutosh were arrested by the Delhi Policeeven then Didi stood with us very firmly,” he said.
CJP Backs Rally But Rules Out Joining INDIA Bloc
Asked whether the organisation would take part in Sunday’s opposition rally, Dipke said CJP supported the cause but would not become part of the INDIA bloc.
“We support the protest tomorrow, we stand in solidarity, but the Cockroach Janta Party is an independent organisation; it is a neutral platform, and we want to keep it that way,” he said.
He added that the organisation would extend support to any group campaigning against alleged electoral irregularities.

Mamata Calls CJP Leaders Pioneers Of Movement
Banerjee, who is in Delhi to attend the rally, praised Dipke and other young activists for their involvement in protests against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and the Election Commission.
“They have extended their full support for tomorrow’s rally, and we have extended all support to them as well. They are the pioneers and the founders of this movement. That we must remember,” she told reporters.
The former West Bengal chief minister also invited Dipke and other activists to visit the state and organise programmes. She left the decision on whether to hold an event in Kolkata to the activists.
Mamata Had Earlier Condemned Dipke’s Detention
Banerjee had earlier criticised Delhi Police’s detention of Dipke on October 16. Describing the action as the “conduct of a fascist regime that cannot tolerate a voice it can’t control”, she had expressed support for the CJP founder.
Saturday’s meeting came amid preparations for the INDIA bloc’s rally, with CJP backing the campaign against alleged electoral irregularities while insisting that it would continue to operate as an independent organisation.
