The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has invited teachers and school heads to register for NISHTHA courses offered during the April–October 2026 cycle. The National Initiative for School Heads’ and Teachers’ Holistic Advancement (NISHTHA) is designed to strengthen the professional capabilities of educators and school leaders.
For the 2026–27 session, the training is being conducted under NISHTHA Category II, which covers proficiency-based courses, and Category III, which offers advanced-level courses. The programmes are being delivered through the Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET), National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).
Category II includes two courses:
NISHTHA Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN)
NISHTHA Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE)
These programmes are intended for teachers and school heads involved in the foundational and preparatory stages of schooling, covering students up to Grade 5. Registration for these courses will remain open until August 31, 2026, while the courses are scheduled to conclude by September 15, 2026.
Category III offers the following courses:
Cyber Hygiene Practices: Personal Digital Devices
Environmental Hazards of Electronic Waste (E-waste)
Action Research
Catch the Rain – English
Catch the Rain – Hindi
These advanced courses are available to school heads and teachers across the board.
Educators can enrol through the NISHTHA courses portal.
More Than 845 Virtual Labs on DIKSHA
Through another second notice, CBSE has announced more than 845 curriculum-linked Virtual Labs and digital educational resources available on DIKSHA. The resources have been developed by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in collaboration with CIET-NCERT. The Virtual Labs primarily cover Science and Mathematics and are aligned with the NCERT curriculum.
Teachers and students can access these resources through multiple routes. The DIKSHA portal and mobile application offer Virtual Labs organised by grade, subject and chapter, making it easier for users to locate content relevant to their studies.
The resources are also connected to QR codes embedded in NCERT textbooks. By scanning the appropriate code, students can directly access related Virtual Labs and other digital learning material.
CBSE has additionally shared grade-specific QR codes that provide access to Virtual Labs and relevant chapters across various classes. Another option is Ask DIKSHA, an AI-based search facility that helps users find suitable Virtual Labs and other educational content.
Virtual Labs are also available through DIKSHA Personalised Adaptive Learning (PAL) courses, giving students another way to explore the digital resources.
CBSE has asked all affiliated schools to communicate the availability of these resources to students, teachers and other stakeholders and encourage their regular use.
