The CBSE 10th and 12th board exams 2026 will take place from February 17 and go on till March 10 and April 9, 2026, respectively.

CBSE 10th, 12th Datesheet 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the final datesheet for the CBSE board exams 2026. According to the datesheet, the CBSE 10th and 12th exams will commence on February 17, 2026. Candidates appearing for the CBSE board exams can check the full timetable by visiting the official website at cbse.gov.in.

The CBSE 10th exams 2026 will take place from February 17 to March 10, 2026, while the CBSE 12th exams 2026 will be conducted from February 17 to April 9, 2026.

The exams will be held from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM, depending on the subjects.

The secondary school exams or class 10 will commence with Mathematics Standard and Basic exams. The exams will be held on February 17 from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm. The class 10th exams will end with the French language exam on March 10. While the class 12 or senior school exam will begin with Biotechnology, Entrepreneurship and Shorthand (English and Hindi) on February 17 from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm and will conclude with Sanskrit, Data Science and Multimedia on April 9.

CBSE Board Exam 2026: Steps To Download Datesheet

Step 1: Go to the official website at cbse.gov.in.

Step 2: On the homepage, look for and click on the “Examination” section or tab.

Step 3: Search for a link ‘CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2026’ or ‘CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2026’

Step 4: Click on the desired link. The date sheet will appear in PDF format.

Step 5: Make a note of the dates or download the date sheet.

CBSE has changed the exam pattern primarily in accordance with the National Educational Policy (NEP) 2020. For the 2026 board exams, CBSE has reduced the number of rote-learning questions in the 10th and 12th grade exams. The emphasis is now on competency-based questions. 50% of questions in grade 10 and 40% in grade 12 will be based on case studies and MCQs.

The board also noted that to ensure JEE Main and CBSE exam do not coincide, NTA will ask for the registration number of the class 11 students to be filled in the application form. Schools have been directed to share the registration number to the students applying for the engineering entrance exam.
