The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 is scheduled for November 24. The test is organised by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta and will be taken in three sessions in a single day. IIM Calcutta has already issued the admit cards which can be downloaded at iimcat.ac.in. These hall tickets contain details such as candidates’ names, application numbers, exam dates and times, and the exam centre details.
CAT 2024: Exam Schedule
The CAT 2024 will be conducted in three different time slots:
Session 1: 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM
Session 2: 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM
Session 3: 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM
Candidates are encouraged to get to the hall at least an hour earlier than the time designated for their session due to the security checks and document authentication.
CAT 2024: Required Documents
Candidates must carry the following items to the exam centre:
CAT 2024 Admit Card: It must be printed on A4-size paper containing specifically important information that includes the candidate’s name, an application number, the date of the exam, and reporting time.
Valid Photo ID Proof: Only an Aadhaar card, PAN card or Indian passport are deemed as valid ID proof.
Scribe Affidavit: Applicable only for those candidates who need assistance to write the exam.
Candidates are also encouraged to affix a recent photograph on their admit card which should resemble the one they submitted on their application form.
CAT 2024: Prohibited Items
To maintain a secure testing environment, candidates are prohibited from bringing the following items into the examination hall:
— Mobile phones and Bluetooth devices
— Electronic devices (including watches)
— Metal jewellery and shoes with thick soles
— Bags, food items, and drinks
— Clothing with large buttons or pockets
The candidates are also strictly advised not to carry personal stationery. Only materials provided by the examination authority will be allowed – pen and scribble pad.
CAT 2024: Exam Day Guidelines
— You must bring your admit card and any photo ID with you when you leave for the examination centre.
— Ensure that you get to the venue 45 minutes earlier, just in case of any hustle.
— Pay attention to the instructions from the invigilators or those written on the admit card.
— Avoid last-minute cramming as this may cause anxiety in some or all parties involved. Rather, concern yourself with a light revision, and make sure that you are well-rested for the exam.
— Don’t ignore the instructions given for this year’s CAT. This translates to having a clue on how to manage the online testing interface.
