Singer Bruno Mars recently set the record straight after a viral screenshot claimed that he liked an Instagram reel calling Taylor Swift “talentless.” In a social media post, Bruno expressed her admiration for the Lover singer.
“Taylor has been supportive and kind to me. Only love for her (sic),” his post on X read. Minutes later, the 40-year-old singer uploaded another post and added, “Spread Love on these apps (sic).”
Pop Faction later reported that Bruno had removed the like that initially sparked the speculation.
Taylor, 36, has not responded to the alleged social media diss, she had earlier expressed interest in collaborating with the Bruno Mars-led duo Silk Sonic after running into him at an event.
In an interview with Z100’s Elvis Duran in 2011, she said, “I was like, ‘I would love to write with you sometime,’ and he’s like, ‘Let’s do it! Let’s meet up on the road.’”
The incident comes after Bruno Mars replaced Taylor Swift at No 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. His single I Just Might claimed the top spot in January, ending Swift’s 15-week run with The Fate of Ophelia from her album The Life of a Showgirl.
The clip mentioned shows Taylor dancing from the iconic The Eras Tour with the caption, “Genuinely, how did she get famous?” It further read, “White privilege is crazy because imagine if an Asian was as talentless as her.”
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift and NFL player Travis Kelce are reportedly set to marry this June in Rhode Island, following widespread speculation since the announcement of their engagement on Instagram. According to Entertainment Tonightthe ceremony is expected to take place at the Ocean House, a well-known venue in Rhode Island, on June 13.
