Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for Ruben Neves, and fans made their feelings over the midfielder clear as they asked Bruno Fernandes to exert his sway in bringing the Portuguese player to the club.

A fan of the Mancunian club pleaded with skipper Fernandes to use his sway to bring the Al Hilal player to Old Trafford, after the conclusion of United’s 1-0 win over Newcastle.

“Bruno, can you get Rube Neves to join us?” a fan pleaded with the Portuguese maestro.

“We need him,” he added.

Fernandes, who has been United’s most prolific player since his arrival at the Old Trafford from Sporting Lisbon, responded with a smile.

Manchester United moved up to sixth place in the English Premier League after their win over Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Saturday, with a decisive goal by Patrick Dorgu separating the two teams.

United, missing eight players for the match against the Magpies, managed to maintain the lead given to them by the Dane, who scored a spectacular volley with his left foot in the 24th minute, beating Newcastle’s goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale.

This victory brought United’s points total for the season to 29, leaving them behind fifth-placed Chelsea only on goal difference, following the Blues’ defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday.

Arsenal, who secured a 2-1 win over Brighton at the Emirates, remained at the top of the table despite second-placed Manchester City’s 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest.

Aston Villa, in third place, continued their impressive form with a win over Chelsea, marking their eleventh consecutive victory and their 17th win in the last 19 games after a slow start to the season. Liverpool climbed to fourth place after narrowly defeating Wolves 2-1 at Anfield.
