A Pakistani security forces convoy has reportedly come under a major attack in the Nok-Kundi area of Balochistan, with local and other sources claiming that seven Pakistani personnel were killed. Five bodies were allegedly removed from the site, while two were reportedly left behind in the desert as security concerns prevented their recovery.

The claims have not been independently verified, and there has been no official confirmation from Pakistan’s military of the reported seven fatalities at Nok-Kundi.

Nok-Kundi, in Chagai district, lies along the strategically important Quetta-Taftan route and close to Pakistan’s borders with Iran and Afghanistan. The wider Chagai region has witnessed repeated militant activity in recent weeks.
The reported attack comes amid an intensifying wave of violence in Balochistan, with the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) increasingly targeting military convoys, checkpoints and security installations. The group has claimed responsibility for several recent attacks, although many of its casualty claims remain independently unverified.
Earlier this month, the BLA claimed that its fighters had ambushed a Pakistani military convoy at Ziarat Cross in Balochistan’s Pishin district. The group claimed heavy casualties among security personnel, while Pakistani authorities have acknowledged fighting in the area but have not publicly confirmed the BLA’s casualty figures.
The BLA has also claimed a series of attacks on military convoys in Kharan, Mastung, Kalat, Surab and Lasbela. In its account of operations between September 7 and 13, the group claimed 43 Pakistani military personnel and alleged state-backed militia members were killed. Those figures too remain unverified.
