BJP workers and members of various Hindu organisations staged a protest outside the office of a Bihar Congress leader, who also serves as the Deputy Mayor of Darbhanga, over her social media post comparing the RSS to Pakistan.

Holding placards and chanting slogans against the Deputy Mayor’s remarks, the demonstrators staged a massive protest outside the Darbhanga Municipal Corporation.

Nazia Has’s Remark
In a now-deleted social media post, Hasan wrote: “We love our Hindu brothers as much as we love our Muslim brothers. We hate Pakistan as much as we hate RSS because both have been supporters of the 2 Nation Theory.”
Following the viral post, BJP and RSS supporters expressed outrage, leading to a major uproar at the Municipal Corporation office today.
BJP workers gathered at the Municipal Corporation, where they began by protesting against Hasan and burning her effigy. At the time, Nazia Hasan was inside her office.
As the situation escalated, police forces from multiple stations were called in to control the crowd. Sadar SDPO Amit Kumar arrived at the scene and intervened by speaking to both sides in an effort to defuse the tension.
He suggested that Deputy Mayor Nazia Hasan issue an apology, which she agreed to.
However, while speaking to the media, Nazia Hasan stated that her apology was made under pressure from the administration. She argued that if anyone had an objection to her post, they should have pursued legal means instead of launching a direct attack on her.
