The AI-generated clip shows the Chief Minister speaking with the audience.

The Karnataka BJP on Thursday circulated an AI-generated video portraying Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in a simulated Facebook Live session, appearing irritated as he reads comments from viewers.

The AI-generated clip shows the Chief Minister telling audiences, “I’ve finished two-and-a-half years as Chief Minister. I don’t know how long I’ll be here as Chief Minister, so I want to talk to all of you and I am live on Facebook.”

As the fictional livestream unfolds, AI-generated comments begin to appear, with users named Jamal, Ajmal, Rafiq and Faiz offering supportive messages such as urging him to “stay as Chief Minister for five years.”

But one viewer, identified as Shivashankar Kanakapura, asks, “How long will you be Chief Minister for? Resign and leave.” The AI-crafted version of Siddaramaiah instantly reacts, saying, “Who is this man commenting? I will block you.”

The BJP circulated the clip to mock the Chief Minister and highlight what it alleges is growing discord within the Congress government as it reaches the halfway point of its five-year term.

‘Will Present 17th Budget’: Siddaramaiah

Earlier, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had said that he would continue as the Chief Minister of Karnataka and would present his 17th Budget next year.

Siddaramaiah, who also holds the finance portfolio, presented his 16th budget in March.

He was speaking at the golden jubilee of LG Havanur on Wednesday, marking submission of the first backward classes commission report.

“When I first became finance minister, a newspaper wrote — this Siddaramaiah (a Kuruba) can’t count a hundred sheep, how will he function as Karnataka’s finance minister — I accepted this as a challenge….. I have presented 16 budgets. Next, I will present the 17th budget,” Siddaramaiah said, drawing loud applause.

The 2026-27 budget is likely to be presented in March next year, and preparatory work has already begun.

Siddaramaiah’s comments come amid speculation about a possible leadership change in the state, when the Congress government reaches the halfway mark of its five-year term in November.
