Fire Erupts In Patna Fast Passenger Train At Sasaram Railway Station
A major fire broke out in a coach of the Patna Fast Passenger Train at Sasaram railway station in Bihar on Monday morning, a day after a fire incident on the Thiruvananthapuram-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express in Madhya Pradesh.
The incident at Sasaram took place at Platform No. 6, where one of the passenger coaches suddenly caught fire and was completely gutted.
Railway officials said no casualties were reported in the incident. A major accident was avoided due to the quick response of Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and local residents present at the station.
Fire brigade teams rushed to the spot and carried out firefighting operations. After efforts at the site, the blaze was brought under control.
Preliminary reports suggested that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit inside the coach. Authorities are expected to further investigate the exact cause of the incident.
Rajdhani Express fire
The Bihar train fire comes just a day after another fire was reported on the Thiruvananthapuram-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express in Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam district on Sunday.
Officials said the fire damaged two coaches of the Rajdhani Express, though no injuries or casualties were reported in that incident either.
According to railway officials, the fire broke out in the B-1 coach of the Thiruvananthapuram-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express (train number 12431), which was carrying 68 passengers.
The incident took place between Vikramgarh Alot and Lunirichha stations under the Kota railway division at around 5.15 am while the train was travelling from Thiruvananthapuram to New Delhi.
