Amitabh Bachchan was among the many celebrities celebrating India’s victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup final. The veteran actor shared a post that also took a light-hearted dig at former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar. Earlier, during the cricket talk show ‘Game On Hai’, Shoaib had mistakenly mentioned Abhishek Bachchan’s name instead of cricketer Abhishek Sharma while discussing the match.
Teasing Shoaib, Big B praised ‘Abhishek Bachchan’ for playing well. He also tweeted about how Team India Defeated The ‘Dushman (Enemy).’ Amitabh Wrote, “Jeet Gaye !! Well Played, ‘Abhishek Bachchan’. Played ‘Abhishek Bachchan.
Earlier, Abhishek Bachchan had also reacted to the goof-up with a post on X that read, “Sir, with all due respect don’t think they’ll even manage that! And I’m not even good at playing cricket (sic).”
It all began when Shoaib Akhtar, while analysing Pakistan’s prospects in the Asia Cup final against India, accidentally mixed up names. He remarked, “If Pakistan manages to dismiss Abhishek Bachchan early in a hypothetical scenario, what will happen to the middle order? Their middle order hasn’t been performing well.”
The former cricketer meant Abhishek Sharma, but he ended up saying Bachchan.
Meanwhile, the match saw several momentum shifts. While Pakistan’s bowlers started strong and put India under pressure, a resilient partnership between Tilak Varma and Shivam Dube turned the tide. Kuldeep Yadav’s four crucial wickets further tilted the game in India’s favour, and Dube’s explosive batting in the final overs sealed the win.
