BCCI’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held in Mumbai on September 18. BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia told that elections will be held on 2 posts of IPL Council in the meeting. One of these posts is that of IPL Chairman.
Arun Dhumal is currently the chairman of IPL. In the meeting, a decision will also be taken on giving associate membership to Andaman and Nicobar Cricket Association.
Application notice released, last date is 31st August
BCCI election officer AK Jyoti issued the election notice on Tuesday. The notice said- Full members of BCCI can apply to include the names of their representatives in the election list.
The last date for submission of applications is 31st August. The names of the candidates for voting will be announced on September 11.
Apart from this, the appointment of BCCI Ombudsman and Ethics Officer is also included in the agenda of the AGM.
Associate members of BCCI do not have the right to vote.
The agenda of the AGM includes a proposal to grant associate membership to the Cricket Association of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Apex Council of BCCI had also discussed the membership of Andaman and Nicobar in its last meeting held in June. Associate members of BCCI do not have the right to vote.
Last year, the Andaman and Nicobar Cricket Association had sent a team to participate in the SPS Academy Cricket Tournament in Bengaluru.
