Banks across various states will remain closed on several occasions in June 2026 due to regional festivals, religious observances and local events.

Bank Holidays June 2026: Customers planning to visit bank branches this month should check the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) holiday calendar before scheduling their work. Banks across various states will remain closed on several occasions in June 2026 due to regional festivals, religious observances and local events.

Apart from state-specific holidays, banks across India will remain closed up to nine days in some states, including all Sundays as well as the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.

How many days will banks remain closed in June 2026?

In addition to weekly offs, banks will remain shut in select states on account of YMA Day, Raja Sankranti, Muharram, Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti and Remna Ni.

It is important to note that bank holidays vary from state to state. While physical bank branches will remain closed on notified holidays, digital banking services such as internet banking, mobile banking, UPI, ATM transactions and cash deposit machines will continue to function.

June 15 (Monday)- YMA Day / Raja Sankranti: Banks will remain closed in Aizawl (YMA Day) and Bhubaneswar (Raja Sankranti).

June 25 (Thursday)- Moharrum: Banks will remain closed in Vijayawada

June 26 (Friday)- Muharram (Yaom-e-Shahadath) / Last Day of Moharam / Ashoora: Banks will remain closed in Agartala, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, and Srinagar.

June 29 (Monday)- Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti: Banks will remain closed in Shimla.

June 30 (Tuesday)- Peace Day: Banks will remain closed in Aizawl.

It is important to note that Aizawl will have nine holidays this month — 6 weekly holidays (Saturdays and Sundays) and 3 local holidays (June 15, 26, 30)

Will online banking services remain available?

Yes. Customers can continue to use internet banking, mobile banking, UPI, NEFT, RTGS, ATM withdrawals and other digital banking services during bank holidays. However, services that require branch visits, including cheque clearance, account opening, document verification and locker-related work, may be affected.

What should bank customers do?

Customers who need to complete branch-related transactions should plan in advance, especially around the Muharram holiday on June 26, when banks will remain closed in several major cities including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata.

Before visiting a branch, customers are advised to verify local holiday schedules with their respective banks, as holiday notifications may differ across states.
