Bahrain and Kuwait were placed on alert on Thursday after explosions were reported in the two Gulf countries following Iran’s warning of retaliation against US strikes on its territory.
Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior said air raid sirens were activated and urged citizens and residents to remain calm and move to the nearest safe place.
“The siren has been sounded,” the ministry said in a post on X, adding that people should follow safety instructions.
In Kuwait, the country’s military said its air defence systems were responding to what it described as hostile missile and drone threats.
