Axis Bank Q2 Results: The bank’s operating profit for the quarter falls 3 per cent to Rs 10,413 crore. Core operating profit stood at Rs 9,915 crore.

Private sector lender Axis Bank on Wednesday reported a 26% year-on-year decline in its net profit to Rs 5,090 crore for the second quarter of FY26. However, its net interest income, the difference between interest earned and interest expended, rose 2% YoY to Rs 13,744 crore during July-September 2025.
The net profit had stood at Rs 6,917.57 crore in July-September 2024. However, it was Rs 5,806.14 crore in the first quarter of fiscal 2025-26.
Its NII rose 1 per cent quarter-on-quarter (QoQ), the lender said in an exchange filing.
The bank’s operating profit for the quarter fell 3 per cent to Rs 10,413 crore. Core operating profit stood at Rs 9,915 crore.
Axis Bank said its operating cost grew 5 per cent YoY in the second quarter of the current fiscal.
As on September 30, 2025 the bank’s reported gross NPA and net NPA levels were at 1.46% and 0.44% respectively, as against 1.57% and 0.45% as on June 30, 2025.
“Gross slippages during the quarter were Rs 5,696 crore, compared to Rs 8,200 crore in Q1FY26 and Rs 4,443 crore in Q2FY25. Recoveries and upgrades from NPAs during the quarter were Rs 2,887 crore. The Bank in the quarter wrote off NPAs aggregating Rs 3,265 crore,” said the bank in a stock exchange filing.
Provisions and contingencies for the second quarter stood at Rs 3,547 crore compared to Rs 2,204 crore a year ago.
