The women’s 4x400m relay quartet ended the country’s track campaign with a gold medal, while Neeru Dhanda produced a record-breaking performance to win the women’s trap title.
Neeru Dhanda won gold in the women’s trap individual final with an Asian Games record score of 28, hitting four perfect series out of five. She had already topped individual qualifying in a shoot-off with Qatar’s Ray Bassil, and closed out a flawless final round after Bassil and Kuwait’s Hajar Abdulmalik were eliminated, finishing ahead of China’s Sun Yunong. Gulveer Singh added a third individual medal of the Games, finishing third in the men’s 5000m final with a time of 13:32.75. Bahrain’s Birhanu Balew won gold ahead of Japan’s Tomonori Yamaguchi, with defending champion Avinash Sable not starting the race. The bronze extended Gulveer’s remarkable run of medals across multiple events at these Games.

India moved up to tenth on the medal table with six gold, 21 silver and 26 bronze for a tally of 53. The official table still lists India’s bronze count as 25 and the total as 52, as it does not yet reflect Narender’s boxing bronze. Japan held second place with 45 gold, 71 silver and 67 bronze for 183 medals, while South Korea were third with 24 gold, 27 silver and 44 bronze for 95.
