Senior Congress leader and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday accused the BJP government in Rajasthan of trying to suppress the alleged NEET (UG) paper leak case for two weeks and “tampering with the future of the youth”.

In a post on X, Gehlot said the cancellation of the NEET (UG) entrance examination pointed to “large-scale malpractice” in the conduct of the exam.

“The BJP government in Rajasthan deliberately tried to cover it up for two weeks and tampered with the future of the youth. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has taken a bold decision in the interest of the youth by canceling the exam and handing over the investigation to the CBI,” he said.

Gehlot also alleged that the BJP government had earlier concealed the OMR sheet scam linked to the Employee Selection Board in order to protect the government’s image.

“The BJP government in Rajasthan had previously concealed the OMR sheet scam in the Employee Selection Board to avoid tarnishing the government’s image. Due to weak prosecution, the accused in that case were even granted bail,” he said.

The Congress leader further alleged that no FIR was registered in connection with the NEET (UG) paper leak and claimed the state government had attempted to suppress information related to the matter.

“Similarly, now an attempt was made to hide information about the NEET (UG) exam leak, and no FIR was even filed. Now the truth has come out, and the true face of the BJP government has been exposed,” Gehlot added.
