As the low pressure in the Bay of Bengal crossed the coast on Monday evening, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana experienced heavy rains overnight. Some areas continued to receive heavy rains on Tuesday, leading to holidays for schools and colleges in certain districts today. Today, collectors have declared holidays for schools in Srikakulam, Parvathipuram, and Manyam districts of Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, there might be holidays for educational institutions in Visakhapatnam, Alluri Seetharamaraju district, Kakinada, and East Godavari districts. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, after reviewing the rains, recommended declaring holidays for educational institutions if the rains persist. In Telangana, holidays have been declared in Siddipet and Adilabad districts today. Holidays have also been announced for Dongadli and Madnur mandals in Kamareddy district. The Telangana Chief Minister has suggested that if heavy rain continues, collectors and education department officials should decide on holidays. It is prudent to declare holidays in these areas.
In Andhra Pradesh, Moderate Rain Is Likely in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, Eluru, Konaseema, Rajahmundry, Guntur, NTR, Tuni, Bobbili, Parvathipuram, Manyam, and Araku Today, With Heavy Rain in Some Places. Therefore, there are too school holidays in this.
District collectors are hesitant to declare holidays, partly due to the media’s exaggeration of the rainfall. Despite the media’s portrayal of very heavy rains, the reality is often different.
