Anshula Kapoor, daughter of filmmaker Boney Kapoor and sister of actor Arjun Kapoor, is all set to marry her boyfriend, Rohan Thakkar, on July 6 in Mumbai. At her mehendi ceremony on Saturday, she looked like a dreamy vision in a teal blue Patola-meets-Bandhani-meets-Banarasi lehenga by designer Arpita Mehta.
The mehendi ceremony was an at-home affair, with several celebrities in attendance. Sisters Sonam Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, and Khushi Kapoor were dressed in their ethnic best. Several other prominent film industry faces, including Karisma Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Shabana Azmi, and Neetu Kapoor, also attended the do. But let’s first talk about Anshula and her stunning mehendi outfit.
The bride-to-be turned to her close friend Mehta to create a bespoke ensemble that honoured Thakkar’s Gujarati roots. The result was a striking teal-blue lehenga featuring a fluid silhouette crafted from luxurious Bandhani Banarasi fabric, paired with a long kurti-style blouse and a matching dupatta.
The statement dupatta was elevated with handcrafted silk Patola applique, intricately embellished with mirror work, kasab, and cutdana embroidery. Thoughtful details such as kodi shells, antique metal coins, and tiny ghungroos added a playful finish, making the ensemble a beautiful blend of traditional Indian textile crafts.
Chunky turquoise jewellery and long yet delicate earrings perfectly complemented the vibrant ensemble. Anshula styled her half-tied hair with magenta floral strings, adding a fresh pop of colour that beautifully matched the outfit’s zesty appeal as well as the cheerful spirit of the mehendi ceremony.
Wow is the word, really!
Anshula Kapoor has been nailing the bridal fashion game ever since her wedding celebrations kickstarted with Gor Dhana ceremony in October 2025. Her wedding wardrobe choices so far have been rich in colour palette, Indian craft oriented, and visually maximalist-but-elegant.
Take this aubergine-coloured bandhani lehenga she wore for the Gor Dhana ceremony for instance. Or, the heavy golden lehenga set with Punjab’s Phulkari dupatta that she wore for the Maata Ki Chowki.
We can’t wait to see more of Anshula’s bridal fashion, especially her wedding look. With a star-studded guest list, the celebrations are also set to be a crash course in wedding and festive dressing. Get ready to take notes.
As for Anshula Kapoor and Rohan Thakkar, the two are said to have met on a dating app in 2022. Rohan proposed to Anshula in New York City’s Central Park in July 2025.
