Annamalai BJP Resignation Live Updates: Former Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai is expected to announce his resignation from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday and unveil plans for a new political movement in the state.
Fueling speculation over his political future, Annamalai said in a post on X that he would interact with the public via social media at noon on Friday to share his views and discuss his next steps.
“I eagerly look forward to meeting all of you via social media platforms tomorrow around 12 noon, to share opinions and engage in open-hearted discussions,” he wrote.
The BJP has dismissed reports of Annamalai’s resignation. However, several media reports have claimed that the former IPS officer has already submitted his resignation to the party leadership.
During a recent visit to New Delhi, Annamalai is believed to have met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and conveyed his position. Sources said senior BJP leaders urged him to remain in the party.
According to reports, Annamalai is planning to launch a political movement aimed at addressing the aspirations of Tamil Nadu’s youth. He is also said to be unhappy over being sidelined within the state unit and has reportedly expressed concerns over the BJP’s seat-sharing negotiations with the AIADMK.
