Vedanta Chairman Agnivesh Agarwal, son of Indian billionaire Anil Agarwal, passed away on Wednesday (Anil Agarwal Son Dies). 49-year-old Agnivesh Agarwal met with a skiing accident in New York and breathed his last due to cardiac arrest during treatment at the hospital. After the demise of his son, Anil Agarwal in one of his emotional social media posts mentioned Agnivesh’s dream and a promise made to him (Anil Agarwal Promise With Son) and said, ‘Whatever we earn, we will give more than 75% of it to the society.’

In his social media post, Anil Agarwal, while referring to the promise made to his son, wrote, ‘We had a common dream that no child should sleep hungry, no child should be kept away from education, every woman should stand on her own feet and every young Indian should get work.’ Vedanta Chairman said that I had promised Agnivesh that more than 75% of our earnings would be given back to the society and I pledge to live a simpler life by repeating that promise.

‘My son… my pride… my world’
Remembering his son, Anil Agarwal wrote in his post, ‘For me, Agnivesh was not just my son, he was my friend, my pride and my world.’ He further said that Kiran and I are heartbroken due to the demise of our son. Agnivesh strongly believed in creating a self-reliant India. He always used to say, ‘Papa, as a country we have no shortage of anything, so why should we ever lag behind?

A son does not go before his father. This loss has broken us in ways we are still trying to understand.
