The National Testing Agency has issued the city slips for the Sainik School Entrance Exam 2026. Applicants can access and download their city slips by visiting the official website, nta.ac.in. This exam facilitates admission to Class 6 and Class 9. The city slip provides information on the exam city, helping students plan their travel and preparation accordingly.
The Sainik School Entrance Exam 2026 will be conducted in pen and paper mode using OMR sheets at 464 centres across 190 cities in the country. The exam is scheduled for January 18, 2026. AISSEE 2026 Exam Pattern
Understanding the exam pattern is crucial for students and parents preparing for Sainik School admissions. Take a look at the paper pattern below:
Class 6 exam pattern: The exam is conducted in 13 languages, including Hindi and English, with a duration of 150 minutes. It comprises 125 questions worth a total of 300 marks: 25 language questions (50 marks), 50 math questions (150 marks), 25 intelligence questions (50 marks), and 25 general knowledge questions (50 marks).
Class 9 exam pattern: The exam is conducted only in English, with a duration of 180 minutes. It includes 150 questions worth a total of 400 marks: 50 math questions (200 marks) and 100 questions across intelligence, English, general science, and social science (200 marks in total).
Since about 50 per cent of the questions in both exams are from mathematics, students with a strong math foundation have a higher chance of selection. Therefore, special emphasis should be placed on math preparation.
The minimum passing marks required are 25 per cent in each section and 40 per cent overall, with an exemption for SC and ST category students.
