Air India has updated its mobile app with new features to make traveling easier. Now through this app, not only will ticket booking be faster than before, but passengers will not have to worry at the airport if the flight is late or cancelled. In any such situation, complete information about hotel stay and cabs to reach there will be available directly on the home screen of the app. Along with this, the payment system of the app has also been upgraded, making booking tickets and making payments easier than ever. Tickets will be booked faster through in-house booking engine. The airline has added its own developed in-house internet booking engine in the new update. With its help, the user interface of the app has become faster and more responsive than ever before. Now passengers will not have to face the problem of slow or stuck app while booking tickets and booking will become very easy. There will be changes in the payment system according to Indian needs. Air India’s Chief Digital and Technology Officer Satya Ramasamy told PTI that the app’s new ‘payment orchestration system’ will allow us to make many new technical changes and innovations for India. This technology will help in implementing new features faster. Additionally, this will bring transparency in payment performance and make it easier to handle large-scale traffic. More than 1 lakh people use the app every day. According to a release issued by Air India on Thursday, this mobile app of the company has been downloaded about 1.7 crore (17 million) times so far. Along with this, more than 1 lakh passengers use this app every day for their travel related purposes. The company believes that the new upgrade will help it respond quickly to customer needs. After the arrival of Tata Group, more than 140 digital systems have been changed till now. The loss-making Air India was taken over by Tata Group in January 2022. Since then, a big transformation plan is being implemented to rejuvenate the airline. Since the takeover by Tata Group, more than 140 digital systems of the company have been completely modernized and upgraded. This new update of the app is also an important part of this digital improvement process.
