In a significant step to strengthen India’s technical education, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Consortium for Technical Education (CTE) have joined forces to promote advanced skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Cybersecurity. This move supports India’s AI Mission and aims to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship on a large scale.

As part of the collaboration, TECHNOVATE Hubs will be set up within AICTE’s Indovation Centres. These hubs will connect Centers of Excellence (CoEs) in colleges and universities through a hub-and-spoke model. The CoEs will provide colleges—including those in rural and suburban areas—access to high-quality IT resources, knowledge sharing, and expert mentorship. This initiative is designed to strengthen local start-up ecosystems and improve technical skills across the country. The pilot TECHNOVATE Hub will start at the AICTE Indovation Center in Jaipur, with plans to expand further.

The hubs will offer training programs that include hands-on workshops, advanced technical learning, and exposure to global standards, helping students and teachers succeed in the digital economy. Higher education institutions, faculty, start-ups, and student innovators will get guidance from CTE, which provides mentorship, incubation support, and help with developing prototypes and protecting intellectual property in emerging technology areas.

Professor T. G. Sitharam, AICTE Chairman, said the initiative will connect knowledge, labs, and mentorship nationwide, enabling India’s youth to create innovative solutions and make the country a global leader in technology.

K. A. Alagarsamy, Director of CTE, added that it allows academia and industry to work together on meaningful innovations. Sairaman Srinivasan, Chief Strategy Officer, CTE, said TECHNOVATE provides world-class tools and inspiration locally, helping every student’s creativity to flourish.
