The buzz over a TVK Kerala unit was sparked after a group of Vijay fans in Wayanad began measures to form a local TVK unit.

TVK Chief Vijay’s performance in Tamil Nadu has increased buzz over a TVK unit in Kerala.
After a spectacular political debut in Tamil Nadu, there is considerable buzz about actor-turned-politician C Joseph Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) making an entry into neighbouring Kerala after back-to-back fan meetings in Palakkad and Wayanad.
This came after a group of Vijay fans in Wayanad started measures to form a local TVK unit last week. A meeting of a group of fans of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister was held in Palakkad on Sunday, as per reports.
Notably, Vijay has hundreds of fan associations in Kerala that run several welfare initiatives under the banner of Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, which has now been renamed TVK. However, the outfit has not yet been officially registered as a political party in the state, as members are awaiting directions from TVK leaders in Tamil Nadu.

Is TVK Expanding Its Footprint In Kerala?
During the swearing-in of Vijay, his fans in Kerala held massive celebrations in various parts of Kerala. Participants at TVK’s meeting at Palakkad and Wayanad mostly included youngsters and many women, as reported by Deccan Herald.
There is optimism among TVK cadres in Kerala that the party could get public support in the state. Several Vijay fans are reportedly awaiting an official announcement under the name of a political party.
The TVK emerged as the single largest party in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly election by winning 108 seats and formed a government in alliance with CPI, CPI(M), IUML and VCK, marking a decisive shift in the state’s political landscape. Several social media pages emerged in the name of the TVK Kerala unit, even though such a unit has not officially been announced.
According to a report by The Weekseveral TVK groups have begun actively mobilising in various districts of Kerala. These include non-official handles of a “TVK Kerala State Committee” and a “TVK Kerala Women’s Committee.”
Despite no official confirmation, these pages and groups have garnered thousands of followers in Kerala over the weekend, signalling Vijay’s massive fanbase in the state. The delay on the part of Congress in selecting a Chief Minister has also contributed to some of the youth following the star-led leadership in the neighbouring Tamil Nadu.
