Adani Enterprises, the flagship company of Adani Group, released the results for the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27 on July 29. The company has suffered a consolidated net loss of ₹1,160 crore in this quarter. In the same quarter last year, the company had made a net profit of ₹885 crore.

The main reason for the company’s loss is the settlement payment made to the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). However, during this period, the company’s earnings and operating performance have registered strength.

Highlights of the company’s June quarter results

  • One-Time Settlement Loss: ₹2,644 crore was paid to US agency OFAC.
  • Revenue: increased by 50% to reach ₹32,924 crore (last time it was ₹21,961 crore).
  • EVENTS: Increase by 17% to ₹5,007 crore (last time was ₹4,262 crore).

What is the reason for the company’s loss?

The biggest reason for the company’s net loss in the June quarter is a one-time expense. Adani Enterprises has paid a settlement amount of ₹2,644 crore to the US agency ‘Office of Foreign Assets Control’ (OFAC).

Due to adjustment of one-time loss of Rs 2,644 crore, the bottom-line (net profit) of the company was affected and it changed from profit to loss. Despite the one-time settlement loss, the company has seen growth in its core business operations.

What is OFAC and EBITDA?

US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC): It is a financial intelligence and enforcement agency of the US Treasury Department. It implements and administers economic and trade sanctions based on U.S. national security and foreign policy objectives.

EVENTS: Its full form is Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization. It reflects a company’s core business earnings and operating efficiency, excluding interest, taxes and depreciation.

Consolidated means performance of the entire group

The results of companies come in two parts – standalone and consolidated. Standalone reports show the financial performance of only one unit, while consolidated financial reports report on the entire company.
