Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 32nd edition of the International Conference of Agricultural Economists (ICAE) today (August 3). This conference will be organized at the National Agricultural Science Center (NASC) campus in New Delhi. On this occasion, the PM will address the people present there.
This conference is held every three years to discuss agriculture and its related problems and find solutions for them. It is being held in India after 65 years. It will be held here from 2 to 7 August.
The theme of the conference is Transformation Towards Sustainable Agri-Food Systems
The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Transformation Towards Sustainable Agri-Food Systems’. The aim of this conference is to tackle problems such as climate change, degradation of natural resources, rising production costs and global conflict.
This conference will highlight India’s proactive approach to agricultural challenges across the world as well as showcase the growth in the country’s agricultural research and policy.
Around 1,000 delegates from around 75 countries will participate in the conference
ICAE 2024 will provide an opportunity for young researchers and leading professionals to showcase their work and network. Through this, the focus will be on strengthening partnerships between research institutes and universities. Around 1,000 delegates from around 75 countries will participate in this conference.
The Finance Minister presented the budget on 23 July
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2024-25 in Parliament on July 23. The government gave Rs 1.52 lakh crore for agriculture and related sectors. Last year Rs 1.25 lakh crore was given. That is, this time the budget for farmers was increased by 21.6% i.e. Rs 27 thousand crore.
However, despite the continuous demand of the farmers, no announcement was made in the budget regarding the Minimum Support Price (MSP). The amount of Kisan Samman Nidhi was also not increased, it will remain at Rs 6,000 only. Read full news…
